Juneteenth Celebration at Nickleplate Amphitheater
In the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement and the tragic killing of George Floyd, a group of passionate individuals came together in 2020 to host a Juneteenth event like no other. Held at the beautiful Nickleplate Amphitheater, the event became a platform for healing, education, and community empowerment.
For the first two years, Fishers Equity Awareness, founded by alumni from Fishers High School (FHS) and Hamilton Southeastern High School (HSE), organized the event. In 2022, the Fishers High School Future Black Leaders Organization (FBL) took over, continuing the mission of unity, resilience, and justice.
A Day of Unity & Empowerment
The Juneteenth event attracted attendees from all walks of life, both Black and non-Black, united in the fight against racial injustice. Beyond celebration, the event raised funds to support the Black Lives Matter movement and individuals impacted by police brutality.
