The FBL Inc. Black Round Table
The Future Black Leaders INC. Round Table is a program that was piloted at the University of Cincinnati in the fall of 2023. It aimed to promote collaboration and synergy among Black student organizations (BSOs) on campus. The program provided a structured platform where representatives from various BSOs could come together, share experiences, and strategize on ways to better serve the Black student community.
During the pilot phase, representatives from different BSOs at the University of Cincinnati were invited to participate in roundtable discussions, workshops, and networking events. These gatherings offered opportunities for students to exchange ideas, discuss common challenges, and explore avenues for collaboration on programming and advocacy efforts.
The pilot program at the University of Cincinnati allowed organizers to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of the FBL INC. Round Table model in a real-world setting. It provided valuable insights into the needs and preferences of students, as well as the potential impact of such initiatives on campus culture and community engagement.
Feedback from participants during the pilot phase helped shape the future direction of the program, informing decisions about structure, content, and outreach strategies. The success of the pilot at the University of Cincinnati served as a proof of concept for the broader implementation of the FBL Round Table program at other institutions across the country.
Overall, the pilot program at the University of Cincinnati demonstrated the potential of the FBL INC. Round Table to foster collaboration, empowerment, and advocacy within the Black student community on college campuses. It laid the groundwork for expanding the program to other institutions and furthering its impact on supporting and amplifying the voices of Black students in higher education.
